I just use boxers and long johns. Then top half is a Nike sweat top, then long john top, then t-shirt, then jacket. Obviously for fairly low temperatures

Right, Dave, I knew I could count on you to lower the whole tone of the conversation. |

If you wear some skants it wont kill you, and if you go comando, then that wont either.
Sure cotton widdle catchers are not an ideal textile when doing active sports in a cold enviroment. But Im guessing you will not have pro-longed exposure (I mean being stuck outside not exposing yourself ) so it really doesnt matter if your a*se sweat lingers under your thermals ... neee-hice! |

Interesting... it occurred to me that it would defeat the purpose if you had to wear boxer-briefs or the likes under the wicking base layers. I think I wore boxers the last time I was up north (which was quite a while ago) but since I'm going to Heavenly I wondered if I'd be too cold with just the base layer and no boxers. I have several sets of base layer so there is no problem with changing them daily. |

Nope, try fumbling around with too many layers when you need a pee!
Never been cold around the Crown Jewels either just using base layer long johns. |

| marks and spencers used to do cool max sports hipster type things, they are moisture wicking and are really good!... cheap too at like £15 for 3 pairs. |

| I wear lycra running shorts under my baselayer. They are wicking so are better than cotton boxers, and help to prevent the baselayer getting grody. |

Strictly speaking if you want to follow the wicking code to the max then you either go commando or else get some wicking boxers such as those offered by low alpine or icebreaker....
Or else you can be like everyone else and just stick your normal pants on! |

Forgive my ignorance here: Am heading off on holiday in 10 days and wondered if the guys normally wear boxers/briefs underneath their bottom half base layer? Or do you just wear the base layer as your underwear? |
