Yeah we did but the powder didn't last long. It was really heavy after a couple of days. Rubbish compared to Canada

ah cool, pay a bulgarian taxi driver to take you to the top of the gondola when there's an hour's queue - nice.

Hey guys,

Well I spend the winters in Bansko boarding there for the season and when there is a dump like the one at the moment, it is excellent....alot of off piste to get stuck into. However last season being as it was on the lack of snow, the mountain and the quality of the runs available did suffer.

Queue wise, during the school holidays Bansko can be a nightmare, sometimes waiting for up to an hour to get up the mountain in the morning, but most of the time the queues aren't too bad. Or if you know someone with a car, get them to drive you up top, it only takes 15 mins, 10 mins less that the Gondola itself, and you miss all the queues!!

The more apts that get built, the more people seem to be going, which has it's good and bad points. Good as there are more pubs, bars, restaurants and services open, but the busier the mountain seems to be in general.

If you are looking for somewhere cheap and you want to have fun riding the mountain, then bansko is a great place to try

hey guys... I went to Bansko in March of this year... it was my first trip so i haven't got anything to compare it too... but i had a great time... it's fairly basic and so my friends tell me not half as good as the alps... but if you are after cheap it was great... there wasn't alot of snow in the resort when we went so we missed out on alot of the runs from the main skiing area down to the gondola lifts in the main town... but if there is loads of snow at the mo i would imagine that would be a great run down! There is quite a scary looking black run that runs down into the main nursary area with some scary looking moguls! So if you are feeling daring... i dare ya !!!

Have fun if you do go and if you haven't booked yet check out Apple Bee Chalet.... we stayed there and it was great! I've left a review on their website under Carly P for more info.

I'm in Bulgaria from 26.12.07 to 01.01.08 - Borovets though, not Bansko. Been keeping a keen eye on the web cams for the last couple of weeks. Bansko looks better snow-wise at the moment though. To be honest I've told myself there's going to be no snow then anything I di get's a bonus. (agreed to go cause got offered somewhere to crash, so only have to pay the flight.

I appreciate that when that video was taken it's not peak time, but I've read that the gondola from Bansko town can have a monstrous queue? Anyone spent the season there know if that's really the case?

& ....... skiing powder just doesn't look as much fun
