If your going in Jan you can pretty much pick and choose where you want to stay - except for Fri and Sat when the masses from Calgary arrive.
Red Carpet is a Motel type - no frills, no bar but otherwise fine. You can use the pool in the hotel next door - or at least you could the last time I was there.

We stayed at this cabin b&b - literally a cabin in someone's garden in a residential area close to town. Fine for one or two people, a squeeze for more! Very cute and reasonable price for the location, plus the owner leaves out homemade muffins every morning!

Haven't stayed there, but I walked passed it quite a few times earlier this year!
Town Plan
The map shows where abouts on Banff Avenue it is- which isn't that far from the centre of town at all! (The junction with Wolf Street is about town centre
)

Anyone stayed at the 'Red Carpet Inn' Banff?

I'm in Calgary on business in January and intend to pinch a few days in Banff, Anyone stayed in Red Carpet Inn? And where abouts on Banff avenue is it? it appear cheap and could be just what I am after!
But is it livable?
