Anyone from Scotland fancy a road trip to Cham in Jan?

Probably got space in the car for 1 or 2 more. The plan is to catch the ferry from Rosyth on the 2nd Jan and then just drive down from there so will arrive on the 3rd. There are 2 of us going already, I'm just looking to split the cost a little further possible.

Wish I could.
... Always used to have a week in Cham in Jan and a week in late April but since the kids arrived Ive had to curtail that.
......but Im still planning on hitting Argentiere late April/early May and it should be fine if I play my cards right between now and then.
Have a great trip.

Hope you are allowed out to play.
If you end up going slightly earlier, I'll be heading back on the 27th March. The car is empty for that trip right now so just give me a shout nearer the time if you fancy it.

I can't get in touch with the ferry company until Monday so I'm not sure how much extra it would be for another person, shouldn't be too much I wouldn't imagine. I'd take a stab at £100 covering the ferry and fuel, maybe a little less. The only other thing to be arranged would be getting to Rosyth, whereabouts would you be heading from?

Hi, if it's Norfolkline then they charge £20 to amend a booking. If you want to alter times as well then it's the difference in fare too.

It's Direct Ferries. They mentioned £25 for a change of booking but I'm not sure if that's for simply another person or actually changing the date.

Just curious as to why you're going from Rosyth rather than driving down to one of the Channel Ports...?
Had a quick look at the Norfolk Line website and it seems a slow and expensive way to do it.

Costwise, 500 miles less driving so there's £70 in fuel each way. Admittedly it's still more expensive this way but not by too much.
Also, it's an 18 hour drive so I'm unlikely to manage it in one go and since I'm the only driver (that I trust to drive my RHD car on the wrong side of the road) that means an overnight stop at some point. Might as well get that out of the way on the ferry and just tackle the 8 hour trek down the through France. Living 20 minutes from Rosyth also makes the return leg somewhat more attractive.

Sounds like a good idea if you live that close. Treat the crossing as part of the holiday, you can relax and you're not driving up the M1/A1 or M6/M74.
