aye, it’s a shame as well because its only his 3rd week boarding and he was getting on really well. Luckily the dislocated shoulder only slowed him down for about 3 days and the fractured elbow was on the last day so didn't stop him too much. What was funny was that if he'd've done that crash landing about 10ft nearer the camera (where I was) he'd've been fine, because there was about 20ft of 2ft-deep powder there! He's got the family style of not caring enough about his personal safety though

He ended up fracturing his elbow

But did he manage to get the windows all the way down?

Only joking of course

Here's a video of my brother crash-landing when on an off-piste run under the 7th Heaven chair

Yesterday was a great day, spent the whole day lapping Symphony, bouncing around in the trees around Adagio and Jeffs Ode To Joy. This is definitely one of my favourite areas in Whistler!

Whilst browsing the real-estate mags over here, saw this place, only $18million Once I win the lottery...

Got up to Harmony today and went through some nice powder off the Burnt Stew Trail but then my wife's boots started giving her jip so we had to go back down to the village and buy a new pair of boots. We had a general potter around, including a nice cinnamon bun at Hot Buns bakery and then she got a new pair of Salomon Ivy boots from Showcase.

We're currently having a few Ceasars (vodka and Clamato juice) at the condo before heading out for some beers and some steak/rib action

Tomorrow will either be Peak to Creek or Blackcomb

Yeah i had a pretty good day today..... especially as thought the conditions would be a bit paff after the rainfall yesterday. The pistes on whistler were ok, slightly icy in places.... with plenty of powder in the trees. I headed upto harmony once the lift opened, plenty of knee deep powder more so in symphony with fresh lines everywhere. A pretty dam good day, when i wasn't expecting much (one of my best of the season).
ps: im the little un, with the baby face!

Time to resurrect an old thread since we've finished the first day of this year's Whistler trip! We arrived last night after a relatively pleasant Air Canada flight and Perimeter bus transfer, even Heathrow T3 was smooth running!

Last night was a quiet one, just grabbed a beer and a burger at the Brewhouse before spending today on Whistler, lapping Emerald Express, Big Red and Garbanzo. Most of the day was on the greens and blues to warm everyone up, but we got in a couple of black runs to push everyone a bit. The conditions were great, with plenty of soft powder on the runs around those chairs and nice soft slush on the way into the village. There were a few spots between the trees with the deadly frozen powder, where you go flying into it and then get thrown off!

Tonight was even quieter than last night, with a couple of pitchers at Amsterdam for apres, then back to the condo for a homecooked meal and a DVD.

Tomorrow will either be on Harmony/Peak if they open them after the copious avalanche explosions that we heard today, or on Blackcomb if they don't.

One shooting in 30 years... better than London then.

As far as conditions are concerned... check the resort forecast: last I looked the freezing level was 1700 meters, so that's fairly typical.

It takes a few days to post shots, but here we have shots up to March 10th taken just across the valley (albeit in a better snow belt), but they may give you an idea of conditions in the area.

The alpine forecast is on the left hand menu of this page also, if you don't know it already.

Jeez, that's a bit worrying!! Wouldn't be the best kind of news you'd want if you were headed out.
