I bought a new lens hood for a 24-70 (the original is at the bottom of an Alaskan lake..) from HK on eBay with no trouble.
Before anyone says "support the uk retail trade", I should explain that UK Pro dealer didn't have one, but ordered it from Canon UK. I waited for a couple of months, but by then Canon UK couldn't even provide them with an estimated delivery date. I doubt they understand how much contempt an organization which treats its retailers and end customers like that can generate.
So I got it in 4 days for about half the UK price. Maybe if we just move all our shops to HK everything will be like that - fast, cheap, available ;-) |

The HK shops are okay.
I've bought two flashes from Digital Rev and saved near £100 each time.
They arrive in about 4 days. |

I've bought 2 SLR's (one of them my current F80) and a couple of lenses from there. All good.
I would avoid HK listings or those that look like they are from people who know nothing about photography. Check previous listings to see what else they have sold as that would give you an idea. |

I sell my stuff on eBay though and it's pristine, so you can get good stuff there. Quite how you tell the difference is another matter; I've had people steal the images I post of my lens to sell their own... |

Im really pleased with my Nikon D80 . Just treated myself to a Nikon 10.5MM F2.8G AF DX IF-ED FISHEYE-NIKKOR lens and its proving to be great fun to play around with.

| I recently got a Sony SLR. People always go why did you buy sony they dont make cameras?! Well for the simple reason that you get far more features and a really good build quality for your money. Sony are just trying to break into the market so are offering better prices to entice people to get them. I got the same features for 400 quid as i would have on a 600 quid Canon. |

Chris, if you still don't buy SLR camera yet I would strongly recommend to get Nikon D200. I'm its owner myself. As for me this is the best digital camera I have ever used. Try it and you won't be disapointed |

Depends on your price really but i have the Nikon D200.
Even though im lacking huge motivation to get out and use it...its an awesome piece of kit, and Holly the D200 has a switch to light up the mini LCD screen..  |

cool... cant say ive tried the D80 but the D50 suits me well and when ive used some of the canon SLR ranges they just havent matched up to the standards!! im probably in the need of an upgrade soon  ! my problem is that i enjoy too many things  ! end up needing to spend loadsa money!! the D50 also has the twin LCD displays which is useful when using the ol tripod!but changing aperture etc with that stupid little dial (past troubles at night time... pain in the assss!) |

I'm taking my D80 with me - good camera  .
I tried my brothers D40X and the manual settings, which I use 85% of the time are really cumbersome. At least the D80 has a primary and secondary command dial and an LCD display on the top as well as the back. |
