Bit early to be thinking about it, but I did Meribel/3V for 2005 NY week.

Good terrain, and the weather was ok, but wouldn't go again at that time. It was as
though the whole of Chelsea had decamped there. Rah, rah, rah. Oh, and 7€ a pint was a pisstake.

Been away for New Year's every year since 2002 (Pas de la cas x 2, Soll, Meribel, Les Arcs, Laax), and have to say that Soll was the best atmosphere. Any of the decent Austrian resorts will be good, but as you always take a risk on snow conditions, stick to the highish ones.

A week B+B/self catering is usually around £400-450 but last year a week at the Riders Palace was £190 each, and the flight £100. You have to add £50 for the return train/bus transfer though.

No idea where we're heading this year, but we normally get around to booking it in early August.

Any ideas welcome for new year 08 boarding welcome......sick of crap pubs/clubs for Hogmanay. Anyone got any opinions/info on wheres good for new year, prices etc. Or got two spaces they need filled.................????
