well, i went on a Girlie camp, ended up travelling to and from the camp with girls on the Just4Girls camp and have been on an Our Camp night at the domes.
Girlie Camp Wasn't that impressed. Didn't seem good value for money (accomodation very cramped self catering, no transfers, some of the organized nights out were a ripoff etc...)and was mainly younger girls (under 18 generally). Didn't like that the instructors were some of the local bloke instructors who didn't seem that great to me. For instance, i pointed out i'd never used a t-bar before, the response was pretty much "you'll be fine." No attempt to made to pair me up with someone and as i was at the end of the lift q i was left to get on with it which led to me falling off the t-bar a few times before giving up, waiting for the group to come find me at the lift and when they never turned up i went and did my own thing for the rest of the afternoon. So all in all, wouldn't recommend them.
Just4Girls Seemed like a better deal, better accom, organised tranfers (on the one that i travelled with some people on it) and they reckoned the instructors were really good.
OurCamp Thought they were fantastic! Can't speak for the package deals as i went for an evening at one of the domes, but the tuition was really good, and not just concentrated on the people who were the best etc. The package deals look really good value as well. |

Hi Alexia, We have a few Testimonials on the ourcamp.co.uk site if you want to hear what others thought about their experiences. I think you'd be fine on any of the camps, you seem to have quite a bit of riding under your belt, you'd most likely be middle to top of the group. I'm not sure of your age, the Girlie camps tend to be aimed at younger girls and the living is usually in apartments with coaching from Instructors with a few pro's there to inspire you too. Just4Girls will be a mix of mostly Brits I think, living in a lovely chalet in Morzine, the mint teachers will be coaching. Our Camp is also in lovely Chalets in Morzine (MoreMountain and Ride&Slide) we get mostly brits with a few euro renegades. The ages are mainly 18 to 30's and older so a bit older than the Girlie camp girls in general, all of our coaching is done by British and Euro Pro's.
Maybe a few girls on here can give you an unbiased opinion of what you would like best, I think OURCAMP (of course!! )
Let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to help, or write to Ollie at Just4Girls, he'll be happy to hear from you too.

Hi there,
I'm also looking for a girl's only camp for next year but I've only done one season and will do another week in x-mas... I've been looking at Girlie Camps, Just4Girls and Our Camp but not sure which one is best value for money and more suitable for my level (I guess by then I'll be a low-intermediate??)
Could you please advise on pros & cons or recommend a camp that you have already try??
Thanks!
:o) Alexia |

agree with Narleigh, Our Camp are fantastic. Haven't been on one of their week camps but went to the 4 hour evening they did at xscape and they were brilliant. Learnt so much and attempted much more than i thought i ever would.
I'd avoid Girlie camps. I didn't rate them much for reasons i've already moaned about on here |
