The weight one was particularly unpleasant if I remember....eating lard and massive lumps of cheese. |

He still won the Brits indoor big air not so many years back.
Ed Leigh is a legend. Him and Christian making up 'Laughing Gear' were the best thing about the old 'Board X' events. |

I think we've got to remember that the Ed Leigh we see on Ski Sunday, is Ed Leigh as a presenter - not as a professional snowboarder.
His Burton semi-pro days were around a decade ago - before age and injuries took their toll.
If you watch some of the early vids he was in and look at the pics - you'll see he is of a high standard. |

QUOTE (winterfunman - 05/07/2008 @ 12:18:48) Well said , standard are alot higher now , back then he was a semi pro so we should be humble to that , perhaps those who say he cant ride should appy to ski sunday for his job , cos surely if they are THAT much better will take his job with n o problem ................... way to make a stupid comment, i didnt say he couldnt ride, i just said he wasnt pro standard, that doesnt mean anyone who's better than him can do his job as they cant seeing as he's a presenter and its not an easy job. i never said i didnt think he was a good presenter or i didnt like the programs he puts out, all i said was i was suprised how he was a pro rider of burton |

| He's a friends of a friend and i have seen him ride and yeah he is actaully very good....but the important things is he was a 'semi' pro back in the early days before most of us had even thought about snowboarding....standards were slightly different then....mainly as hardly anyone actually snowboarded so there were less people to choose from! |

I do hear what Chris is saying as Ed looked a bit rough around the edges on some of the clips I saw.
To be honest though - after reading that interview and hearing about his knees - that sounds a bit painful. Also, can you imagine all the crap he has to go through before he even gets to ride - he must be knackered by the time he straps in!
I, personally, am a big fan |

QUOTE (*wildebeest - 04/07/2008 @ 21:13:22) erm....maybe Chrisdallat? well if he wasnt on ski sunday and you didnt know what he was like as person and you saw him riding by would you honestly say, 'yeah that guy must be a pro' or 'man, he's a real good rider'
i wouldnt, in most the videos ive seen of him he looks an average snowboarder and his technique isnt all that good. im not saying anything bad about him, its just he's nowhere near pro snowboarder level IMO
BTW i dont want everyone just turning on me hear and calling me a dickhead for no reason, its just what i think, if you all think he's pro standard fair enough but.... |

| Burton dont just pick anyone . semi or full pro , so im guessin he could ride to a better standard than 99% of us on here ........................ plus he bringing our beloved sport /past time / hooby to a bigger audience via the programme so give the guy some slack ............ |

I really like that bloke. And I'm missing Ski Sunday too!
I never thought I'd swap my annual summer holiday to instead go where the snow is!! Bring on winter!!! |
