Buy some boots....spend as mych as 179.99 on them. Then hire a board in the resort....take it from there....but comfy boots are worth 10 x their weight in happy days on the hills.

What is likely to be the problem with the equipment in this deal; is it just going to be the build quality or is it likely to make boarding more difficult/trickier for me in general?

Regarding picking the Air board, is there any particular reason that you'd go for that one over the other two?

Oh and OT, I see you mention Livigno in your sig. I take it that it's a good resort then? I hope so at any rate as that's where I'm going!

I would say waste of money - but depends on how much boarding you are going to do and stuff...

My brother does a week a year, and got a similar package last year - he's quite happy with it.

However - if you are going to be a regular at Cas, and do 1 or 2 holidays a year, I would spend that on boots alone (and hire a decent board on resort meantime).

If I were to pick one of those three - i'd go with Air.

Really? It works ok for me. Try this:

http://www.skiwear4less.com/skiwear4less/boards.htm

Failing that try just going to http://www.skiwear4less.com and the deal is on the front page.

So you would recommend boots over a board, if it came down to it?

the link doesn't work, sound a bit cheap, possibly be better just getting some boots for your first trip.
snow·board (sno'bôrd', -bord') n.
A board resembling a small surfboard and equipped with bindings, used for descending snow-covered slopes on one's feet but without ski poles.

Hi all

I'm going snowboarding in Italy at the end of February, and am looking at getting a board, boots and bindings for it. My experience thus far is limited to maybe 10 sessions at Xscape, Castleford over the last year or so. I've always used their equipment so basically have no knowledge whatsoever on what constitutes a decent board.

Looking around various shops and sites, I've come across this deal - board, boots, and bindings for £179.99. My question then, would purchasing this equipment likely be a waste of money given how cheap it is? At the end of the day I'm not bothered about getting anything flashy or high performance, I just want something that'll be ok on the slopes for a week.

If the items might be ok, which of the 3 boards would you recommend to go for?

Thanks.
