| Go for a wide freestyle board like the Dose or Afterblack. Wide boards typically have a higher weight rating and it won't feel as damp when you ride. |

Brownyy Yeah thats not about the length of your board and all about technique. I different board will make no difference if youre technique is wrong. |

Hate to say it, but the size of your board won't be a big factor on you being off balance in the air. If you're hucking it round for a three and ending up off axis, then it's your hucking that's causing the problem, and adding some extra weight at the tip and tail of your board isn't going to be a lot of help.
If you're going to be riding at a fridge a lot, then you don't really need to get a longer board. The extra stability at speed isn't going to be any use and you certainly aren't going to have any issues with the board sinking in powder.
My personal advice is to look at it this way - if you're going to go to a fridge once a fortnight then that's 26 days of riding in a year. Compare that to how many days you'll spend in the mountains (for most people that's one or two weeks). Buy a board for where you'll spend the most time. |

Well I spent the whole of last sesaon on a 57 Darkstar, it's was an awesome board to ride as play around well and I was riding it in all conditions all winter.
I was just shy of 14st by april so the by being slighty stiffer than the www it was still an awesome ride under my gut!!! |

Use sizing as a guide, ride what feels right. I ride anything between a 163 and 158, so it does depend on the board and how it is constructed.
As others have said, if it feels unsteady doing tricks it could be the rider and technique, not just the board.
BTW - there are brands other than Ride out there. |

QUOTE (tekilla - 20/07/2008 @ 15:10:19) I guess Ride are wrong then: Suggested weight range: 100-170 lbs. in 151 cm., 200 lbs. max in 159 cm. length so if someone was 201lbs they can't ride a 159?
well i better change my board to a 159 even though i don't have any problems riding a small board
and also check the first world of the quote SUGGESTED |

if you mean your unbalance in the air i would say its how you are leaving the kicker and not the just the board.
a stiffer board would help, such as the dh maybe 157. if you live near a snowdome pop into tsa and demo some boards to find one you like. |
