I think I had read all pages of the thread, and contributed a bit. It carried on all yesterday afternoon but when I logged in this morning it had cleared the problem. Same with another thread that was perpetually in the Latest Active Threads. If I spot it again I'll test it thoroughly and let you know.

Are you sure you've viewed 'all' of the pages within that thread (as its more than 1 page long). It's likely there are another 4 unread posts on page 2 etc. of that thread?

Not sure if it's a "feature" or not but after I've looked at a thread it doesn't clear the "unread post count". I've been on one thread in particular "Winter Olympics snowboard events schedule" a lot in the last 24 hours and the unread post count still stands at 4. Might be misreading the relevance of the (4) but thought I'd let you know.
