Yeah, I use a cheap steam iron from Tesco and it works fine for me. It's probably not as efficient as some of the flat based ones, but for £4 I'm not complaining. |

| Me too, a cheapo 'steam' one, no water, has holes, set to melt not smoke the wax, no hole clogging issues. |

Likewise, with my steam travel iron from local charity shop = £1
Only issue is the edges aren't radiused like a board iron so not quite as smooth initially but once its all flowing no probs at all.. |

| No idea mate, but having experienced using a steam iron, I've never once had a problem with wax clogging up said holes. |

"it doesn't waste wax at all, as it's molten on the base, and subsequently comes away, it doesn't fill up said holes"
where DO these stories start?!.. |

It's exactly what I use dude, and it's spot on, and it doesn't waste wax at all, as it's molten on the base, and subsequently comes away, it doesn't fill up said holes.
Test it on an old piece of wax if you have it, or just use an old candle, and set the temp until it melts nicely, but doesn't make the wax smoke profusely. |

Yeah, I'm picking the Dakine Deluxe Tuning Kit up from Snow+Rock
Edge Tool (90o + 88o) 10" File Wire File Cleaning Brush Metal Scraper 10" Wax Scraper Pocket Stone P-Tex Sticks Octane Wax Bar Scotchbrite Pad
Comes to £39.95 which seems a lot cheaper than getting it all seperate. |

Cheers, Yeah I've read not to use one with holes as well but only because it wastes a bit more wax.
End of the day I was going to take it to TSA in Manchester for an edge & wax but there is a week wait and want it for the weekend so wasting a little bit of wax wont be the end of the world as I'm in a rush |

I'm told that any old sh1te will do the trick, just stick to the low power settings. Ryness do a travel iron for £7.99 if you need portability on the road. |

| From what I've heard, it's not the best idea to use a steam iron even without water in it... the holes tend make it a bit messy so I hear... |
